Responsibilities

The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.

• Evaluates, analyzes, and designs using structural engineering techniques on small projects or portions of larger projects.
• Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and assistance in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.
• Exercises limited judgment in making adaptations or modifications to design concepts.
• Reviews work with supervisor to ensure the application of sound engineering practices and professional judgment.
• May supervise, coordinate, and direct the work effort of designers on the same project with some responsibility for checking their portion of the completed drawings.
• May write portions of specifications and assist in preparing proposal cost estimates.
• Performs limited design work in Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering
• Five (5) or more years of related practical experience with former employer(s)
• Título and Cédula are mandatory
• Preferred: Registered as a Professional Civil Engineer
• Experience in industrial and commercial projects
• Experience with steel and concrete structural design/calculations
• Advanced English skills
