Overview

SSOE Group is looking for an Instrumentation & Controls Engineering Leader who would like to be part of the growing SSOE Team. We are seeking a talented Instrumentation Engineer with proven experience in leading teams and consulting design experience to join our Automation and Controls Team. At SSOE our Senior Engineers fulfill project leadership roles designing and delivering highly visible projects for our very diverse Market base. This position will require close coordination with our Project Mangers, our Clients, and the SSOE I&C Discipline Project Team to meet Quality requirements, Client expectations, and project schedules.

Responsibilities

A Typical Day Might Include:

 

  • Lead efforts for the development of Instrumentation & Controls design and construction packages.
  • Assist SSOE’s Process Team in support of P&ID development and associated Cost Estimates.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of a team of engineers and designers working on the same assigned project.
  • Develop and maintain instrument index.
  • Development of Junior to Mid-level staff.
  • Specify Process Instrumentation to meet process requirements.
  • Develop loop diagrams and other instrument wiring drawings.
  • Develop MCC One Lines and Electrical Control Schematics
  • Develop and apply instrument installation details.
  • Design Control Panels including associated field wiring and raceways.
  • Interface with client and SSOE team to coordinate design activities.
  • Checking and technical assurance of drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

Qualifications You’ll Need on Day One:

 

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering which qualifies for licensure is required. Electrical Engineering preferred. 
  • PE, or PE-tracked preferred
  • If not registered, 7+ years of related practical experience with former employer is required.
  • Proven experience in leading teams of Junior to Mid-level staff, this includes mentoring and developing of associates in order to ensure the success of the team.
  • Experience in chemical or refinery design required including knowledge of applicable National Electrical Code.
  • MicroStation / AutoCAD Experience.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications.
  • Strong Communication Skills.
  • DCS Programming a Plus.
  • Ability to work and communicate remotely in an independent and team-oriented environment.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Salary Range: $100,000-125,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
