SSOE is looking to hire an Engineering Project Manager (Design Lead) to join our team. You will have the opportunity to identify, understand, and manage the scope of work, schedule, and budget of various design packages. This person will also coordinate with various disciplines within the organization and will be an integral part of problem-solving complex designs for state-of-the-art industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities for the world’s leading high-tech companies.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing the project plan, establishing control procedures, monitoring progress, and adjusting as needed to ensure project goals are being met.
  • Working in tandem with our lead engineers, design team, and senior project managers to identify, understand, and manage the scope of work, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop/manage frameworks to monitor project progress, risks, and change; and take corrective or proactive steps when necessary.
  • Act as an advocate for process improvements and engineer solutions for problems related to the project while meeting objectives.
  • Coordinating meetings and establishing all paper flow and document control with client, contractors, regulatory agencies, and others involved—including RFI responses.
  • Completing work assignments of increasing complexity, working within an established framework of scope, schedule, and cost under moderate supervision (with some latitude for independent judgement).
  • Reviewing and approving client billings and assisting with account collections, as needed.
  • Works with design and engineering team to ensure deliverables are being met and get assistance in the removal of any obstacles that are preventing their completion. Uses all available resources to manage the successful completion of the project.

Qualifications

  • An Associate degree or higher in a related engineering field (i.e. civil, electrical, mechanical, industrial, process, or structural).
  • Demonstrated experience in a client-facing role within the AEC industry.
  • Prior experience as a Design Lead, Engineering Project Manager, or similar role is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work well in groups and across multiple offices, including interfacing with international locations.
  • Computer literacy and basic drafting skills with prevailing software platforms.
  • An active Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus, but not required.
  • A Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is a plus, but not required.
  • Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
