We are seeking a skilled Structural Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will engage in the designing and developing structural components for cutting-edge structural systems for high-tech or industrial facilities with a primary emphasis on steel and strut configurations. As a Structural Designer, you will play a crucial role in creating conceptual designs, producing detailed construction drawings, ensuring their safety, integrity, and compliance with relevant codes and regulations. This position will be a hybrid position, requiring occasional onsite work.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed structural designs and layouts for high-tech and industrial facilities. This includes creating conceptual designs, performing analysis, and producing detailed construction drawings, while adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural components efficiently into overall facility design.
  • Design and model utilizing AutoCAD and Revit software to create accurate and precise structural drawings, models, and construction documents.
  • Perform analysis and calculations to ensure the structural integrity and safety of designs, considering various load conditions and requirements.
  • Create comprehensive construction packages including specifications, bill of materials, and technical documentation for fabrication and construction teams.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to verify adherence to design specifications and provide on-site support when necessary.
  • Stay up to date with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards pertaining to structural design. Ensure that all designs adhere to project standards, seismic requirements, and local building codes.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, process/chemical, and architectural to solve design problems and challenges. Provide support during construction phases, addressing any design-related queries or modifications as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required. An Associate or Bachelor’s degree-tracked in Structural or Civil engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit software for structural design and drafting is required. Experience with Plant 3D, Bluebeam, Navisworks, or other related software systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of associated building codes, seismic design principles/requirements, and experience applying them to real-world projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience with designs containing steel, strut, and/or related structures.
  • Salary Range: $50,000 - $100,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
