We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will apply your expertise of structural engineering and design structural systems using steel and concrete to ensure the safety and durability of the structures you design. As a Structural Engineer at SSOE, you will collaborate with fellow Structural Engineers, Design teams, and Senior Project Managers to develop innovative solutions for intricate and challenging designs, incorporating the latest design methodologies while ensuring adherence to specifications and timely project completion.

Responsibilities

  • Design structural elements for industrial and high technology projects using AutoCAD, Revit, or RISA, and other industry-standard software tools.
  • Perform detailed structural calculations and analysis to determine the optimal design for each project, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Analyze existing structures for new loads, provide recommendations for strengthening where required, and devise innovative solutions to structural challenges.
  • Design new efficient structural systems using steel, concrete, and strut, focusing on industrial applications, and deliver design information on time.
  • Apply creative problem-solving skills to see beyond standard answers.
  • Collaborate with others to find the appropriate solutions to any unusual or difficult problems and choose the appropriate methods and techniques to apply to ensure the successful completion of each project.
  • Exercises judgment for engineering decisions for some aspects of design but receives supervision and direct input on new aspects of assignment.
  • Select appropriate methods for each project based on industrial structural specifications, codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Experience performing field verifications and site walks to identify, verify, resolve, and incorporate solutions into design packages. Ability to troubleshoot design problems in the field.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited school.
  • Having a current Professional Engineering (PE) licensure is a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building codes, including seismic requirements is required.
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD.
  • Experience with REVIT is preferred, proficiency in BIM software is a plus.
  • Experience performing field verifications and site walks to identify, verify, resolve, and incorporate solutions into design packages. Ability to troubleshoot design problems in the field.
  • Salary Range: $68,000 - $96,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
