SSOE is looking for a Part-Time, Senior Project Manager to join our Food & Consumer Products team to support our client in the Battle Creek, MI area. This person will play a critical role in winning and executing projects within the industry for a diverse list of leading-edge clients. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible to lead single and multi-discipline engineering, design and architectural teams for large-scale projects from scope development through complete design packages and complete project execution.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:
The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service, on schedule, and within budget in a team environment.
• Responsible for all aspects of client project delivery in accordance with established best practices
• Provides overall coordination of technical design development in collaboration with discipline leaders and other project team members.
• Responsible for assigned client relationship management and business development activities
• Participates in presentations for new or prospective work, including leadership role as required
• Identifies and develops project opportunities, updates workload forecast and resource planning tools
• Responsible to development of complete proposals, including scope definition, execution strategy, and fee estimates. Collaborates with colleagues as necessary and coordinates with Marketing staff.
• Ensures that commercial agreements are reviewed and approved per established policies. Participates in contract negotiations, as necessary.
• Development of the Project Plan; define WBS, establish budgets, monitors progress and actual values, report project status and take corrective actions to resolve identified deviations in a timely manner.
• Coordinates with SSOE department managers to forecast resource needs and get staff assigned to support project requirements, including from other business units and GWO locations.
• Follows established procedures to effectively administer project (i.e., correspondence, document control, project record keeping, transmittals, etc.).
• Responsible to arrange for subconsultants and subcontracted services as needed, subject to established pre-approval procedures and standard contracting agreement terms.
• Ensures adherence to relevant regulatory and code requirements, coordinates with local officials and AHJ.
• Communicates scope, schedule and budget requirements to each discipline lead, coordinates staffing.
• Responsible to ensure that established checking procedures are other quality measures are completed.
• Responsible to coordinate with Accounting to review/approve draft invoices and related billings
• Coordinates meetings and establishes all associated communication / document control with client, contractors, regulatory agencies and other active stakeholders
• Monitors progress of project, reviews work accomplished and monitors construction budget costs.
• Responsible for the collection of past due amounts with assistance from the PIC or Accounting, as needed.
• Assistance in the training or mentoring of other SSOE staff, mostly junior colleagues
• Follows established change management procedures to document and receive authorization for project change orders in a timely manner.
• Periodic travel to other SSOE facilities and/or client locations for training or other coordination purposes
• Intermittent project and business development related travel required
• Valid driver's license required, may be waived for international assignments
