Responsibilities

The position is an onsite role in Columbia, SC that can eventually turn into a hybrid work setting. The following duties are typical of the position but are not all-encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.

 

  • Support Commercial Developments: Applies design fundamentals to total systems or sub-systems. Interpret and utilize basic topographic information.
  • Review and Address Comments: Address red lines and review comments. Review existing utilities and grading information on as-recorded documents.
  • Site Development: Perform site development construction drawings to include site layout, grading, water, sewer, and storm drainage.
  • Project Details: Develop project details, prepare selections, and adapt to alternatives.
  • Design Calculations: Perform storm water and sanitary sewer design calculations.
  • Technical Supervision: Works under technical supervision with effort occasionally checked during progress and reviewed upon completion.
  • Travel: Some travel required.

Qualifications

Who We Need: 

  • Educational Background: Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Certification: EIT preferred.
  • Professional Experience: 2 years of Civil Engineering experience with site land development; layout, grading, drainage, utility design, and erosion control in commercial markets.
  • Technical Skills: Experience using AutoCAD is required and experience with Civil 3D is preferred.
  • Flexibility: This position requires someone to come into the office everyday.
