Responsibilities

We are seeking a licensed (or on a path to be licensed) structural engineer with at least 3 years of experience in building design and facilities infrastructure. The engineer will work on a wide variety of projects in market sectors such as education, health care, government, and commercial. The engineer will actively participate in the full project cycle, from the design phase through the final construction close-out.

 

  • Structural Analysis and Design: Perform structural analysis and design for a wide range of building structures, both new and existing.
  • Construction Drawings: Prepare complete engineered construction drawings and specifications.
  • Construction Administration: Perform construction administration responsibilities, including review of shop drawings, responding to RFIs, providing direction for corrective action, assisting with coordination, and performing site observations.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Coordination: Coordinate structural items with other engineering disciplines and architecture.
  • Code Analysis: Provide code analysis and offer guidance to internal and external clients.
  • Review: Conduct internal and external review of structural calculations and drawings.
  • Project Deadlines: Meet project deadlines and budgets within the client’s scope.

What We Offer: 

  • Competitive Salary: $85,000 - $90,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and certifications.

Qualifications

Who We Need:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil /Structural Engineering.
    • Master's degree or active pursuit of a Master's degree is highly preferred.
  • Licensure: Licensed in Structural Engineering or on an obtainable path.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience required.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in REVIT. Experience with the RISA suite of structural analysis software is preferred.
  • Work Style: Must be able to work independently or as part of a larger structural engineering team depending on project and staffing needs.
  • Knowledge: Solid knowledge of current building and material codes.
  • Design Expertise: Familiar with the design and requirements for building structures in high seismic and wind areas. Proficient in the design of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood. Familiar with the design of cold-formed metal framing and the ability to design using other materials as required.
  • Project Scope: Ability to work within the project scope, timeline, and budget.
