Responsibilities

  • Utilize your proficiency in AutoCAD, including AutoCAD 2025, to develop and implement complex customizations, dynamic blocks, and parametric designs tailored to AEC project requirements.
  • Design and optimize custom workflows and tool palettes to enhance productivity and standardization across project teams.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive AutoCAD template libraries, ensuring consistency and accuracy in all project deliverables.
  • Design, develop, and implement sophisticated automation solutions using LISP, VBA, .NET, and potentially Python (if applicable) to streamline repetitive tasks, automate drawing generation, and improve data extraction.
  • Create and maintain custom plugins and add-ons to extend AutoCAD functionality and integrate with other AEC software platforms (e.g., Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks).
  • Develop data-driven automation tools that leverage external databases and APIs to enhance design accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for AutoCAD-related issues, including custom scripts and workflows.
  • Support CAD coordination efforts on complex AEC projects, ensuring adherence to project standards and specifications.
  • Manage and maintain project-specific Xrefs, ensuring accurate and up-to-date reference file management.
  • Conduct thorough QA/QC reviews of CAD deliverables, including redline markups and record drawings, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Research and evaluate emerging CAD technologies and methodologies and recommend improvements to existing workflows and processes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, etc.) or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated professional experience as an AutoCAD Specialist in the AEC industry, with a proven track record of developing and implementing custom automation solutions.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD, including AutoCAD 2025, with a deep understanding of advanced features and customization techniques.
  • Strong programming skills in LISP, VBA, and .NET; proficiency in Python is a plus.
  • Experience with managing and maintaining CAD projects, including Xrefs, reference files, and data management.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex AutoCAD-related issues, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000+/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
