We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Project Specialist to join our dynamic Project Management team. You will be a critical link in coordinating complex, multi-disciplinary projects, and ensuring seamless integration of diverse engineering disciplines. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining project scope, schedule, and quality, while fostering a collaborative environment that drives project success. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and contribute to the advancement of high-tech infrastructure, while utilizing your technical acumen, project management skills, and exceptional communication abilities. You will thrive in an environment where collaboration and innovation are paramount. This position will be a hybrid position, requiring you to provide occasional onsite work. Fully remote or travel work arrangements for this role are not available. Local candidates are encouraged to apply, but relocation assistance may be provided for well-qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the scope of engineering projects, ensuring all aspects are in line with project goals and objectives. This includes defining project deliverables, developing detailed project schedules, and allocating resources effectively.

  • Conduct regular coordination meetings, both in-person and virtually, to address project issues and ensure alignment across teams.
  • Establish and maintain clear communication channels and protocols to facilitate information sharing and problem-solving.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams, ensuring designs comply with applicable codes, standards (e.g., IBC, NFPA, ASHRAE), and client specifications.
  • Evaluate design alternatives and recommend innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges, considering factors such as performance, cost, and sustainability.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles to optimize system routing, equipment layouts, and space utilization.
  • Utilize Navisworks for advanced clash detection and resolution, generating clash reports and facilitating coordination meetings to resolve conflicts.
  • Implement and maintain a quality control program, adhering to company and client standards.
  • Proactively query the lead discipline to understand project scope and technical requirements, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive scope matrix to track project deliverables and responsibilities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication of scope changes and hand-off information between disciplines.
  • Identify and assess potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to address potential project disruptions.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work in an industry with multiple deadlines and competing priorities; an engineering-focused / technical environment; and simultaneous management of multiple tasks and projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field) from an ABET-accredited institution is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in project coordination or engineering design within the AEC industry, with a focus on high-tech facilities. Proven experience working on semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or data center projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify, assess, and respond to issues, including the ability to drive resolution of technical issues in a timely and effective manner with a team.
