Under the direction of the Department/Section Manager, this individual sets up projects and delivers project deliverables while providing workflow support. This individual implements client standards, sets up base files, clash reports, and point cloud files for the team. This individual will help manage SSOE’s Common Data Environment (CDE). Able to work in a multi-disciplinary, fast-paced environment and must be proficient in Autodesk and Microsoft software ecosystem.
Work with the Project Management team to:
Develop technology execution strategy for project proposals and staffing estimates.
Authoring, implementation, and maintaining BIM Execution Plan (BxP).
Develop BIM documentation and enforce workflow process standards.
Ensure proper closeout of project.
Train the project team on day-to-day activities to ensure BIM standards are maintained in the modeling environment.
Facilitate BIM meetings and training.
Manage relationships with clients, architects, trade partners, and general contractors.
Mentorship of Specialist I-III.
Manage Common Data Environment (CDE) configuration and software permissions for projects.
Set up or delegate building models and templates according to client and company standards.
Enforce clash detection and resolution processes across all disciplines.
Plan and perform model audits and health checks across a portfolio of projects and clients.
Create automations and processes to extract data from models and design files, minimizing manual re-entry.
Set design software expectations and standards.
Research new applications and workflows.
Testing and rollout of software upgrades.
Perform advanced software functions.
Set and maintain project coordinates.
Use software exchanges to ensure design interoperability.
Collaborate with disciplines on integration with analysis applications.
Apply automation within design software platforms.
Develop and manage design software automations.
Manage automations from SSOE software library.
Troubleshoot design software issues and investigate new workflows.
Manage content libraries setup and administration.
Create families as needed.
Manage shared parameters.
May use AI and other digital technologies to perform job functions.
Occasional travel may be required.
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline, plus 10-15+ years of BIM or 3D CAD experience in a professional-services environment preferred.
OR
Associate degree in BIM/CAD Technology or a related discipline, plus 10-15+ years of relevant experience.
Advanced proficiency with two or more VDC/BIM model-authoring platforms, including—but not limited to—Revit, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and Inventor.
Proficiency with VDC application software, such as Navisworks Manage, ReCap, Autodesk application plugins (for example, Ideate BIMLink and Model Explorer), and related tools.
Working knowledge of associated collaboration and productivity platforms, including Autodesk Construction Cloud or BIM 360, Microsoft Office applications—particularly Word and Excel—Bluebeam, and SharePoint.
Demonstrated understanding of software customization and API-based workflows is preferred.
Strong communication, facilitation, meeting-planning, and presentation skills in team, client, and group settings.
Demonstrated knowledge of the design and construction process, including multidisciplinary coordination and information exchange.
Understanding of multiple project-delivery methods, Lean Construction principles, and Concurrent Engineering concepts is preferred.
Compensation and Work Model
Salary: $105,000–$130,000 per year. Compensation is commensurate with location, experience, certifications, and project complexity. SSOE conducts annual compensation reviews and offers merit-based increases tied to performance milestones.
